The accredited course empowers pharmacists to prescribe hormonal contraceptives to eligible patients, enhancing the accessibility and convenience of reproductive health services.

"It’s also a win for women’s health, with more accessible options for contraception now available across Queensland and Tasmania.
"The pharmacists who completed the course are located across a wide geographical spread, including Southeast Queensland to Monto and Taroom, demonstrating the growing reach of pharmacist-led contraceptive services.
"With enrolments now open in Tasmania, we look forward to seeing these services delivered there from December 1 2025."
Ms Seeto also acknowledged the collaborative effort behind the course’s success.
“This milestone would not have been possible without the incredible work of the College team, our workshop facilitators, and assessors," she said.
"Their commitment to delivering high-quality education has been instrumental in supporting pharmacists through this new mode of learning.”
Ms Seeto said she encouraged other pharmacists to take part.
