To celebrate World Pharmacists’ Day, the Australasian College of Pharmacy (College) is excited to launch the new course Oral Contraceptives: a comprehensive course for pharmacists.

With the role of pharmacists continuing to grow, this new Oral Contraceptives Course complements pharmacists’ journey to upskill and train towards an extended scope of practice.

The Oral Contraceptives Course is free for current College Pharmacist Members. To recognise World Pharmacists’ Day, non-members can save more than 60 percent on College Pharmacist Membership; join the College for only $150*; and freely enrol in the Oral Contraceptives Course. Pharmacist membership is valued at $399.

The Oral Contraceptives Course is CPD-accredited and provides pharmacists with the knowledge to provide and manage the continuation of oral hormonal contraception for eligible women.

Whilst the Oral Contraceptives Course is required for pharmacists participating in the NSW Pharmacy Trial, pharmacists across Australia can enrol and complete the course in line with the state/territory legislation where they practise.

As the Official Training Partner for the North Queensland Community Pharmacy Scope of Practice Pilot, where trained pharmacists can prescribe oral contraceptives for eligible women, the Oral Contraceptives Course is backed by an experienced education provider for pharmacists’ full scope of practice.
