For many Australians, the local pharmacy is the first point of contact with the health system. That accessibility places community pharmacy in a unique position to create welcoming environments where patients feel respected, heard and empowered to participate in decisions about their health.
To help pharmacies mark NAIDOC Week and demonstrate their commitment to culturally safe care year-round, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, through the First Nations Pharmacy Network (FNPN), has released a downloadable poster for display in pharmacies.
The initiative is designed to provide a visible sign of respect and inclusion, while also encouraging pharmacy teams to continue conversations about cultural safety and intercultural responsiveness in everyday practice.
The poster allows pharmacies to:
- Recognise and celebrate NAIDOC Week 2026
- Demonstrate a commitment to culturally safe and inclusive care
- Help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients feel welcomed and respected
- Encourage ongoing conversations about cultural safety within pharmacy teams
Importantly, the poster is not just for NAIDOC Week. Pharmacies are encouraged to keep it on display throughout the year as a visible reminder of their commitment to patient-centred care and health equity.
To reduce environmental impact, the poster is available as a digital download, enabling pharmacies to print locally as required.
Guild members are encouraged to download, display and share the poster with their teams as part of their ongoing commitment to delivering culturally safe healthcare in their communities.
