PGA’s Western Australia Branch this week partnered with the WA Government to host an inaugural influenza vaccination clinic at Parliament House in Perth.

The clinic coincided with the commencement of the WA Government’s 2026 Free Influenza Vaccination Program, which runs from May 1 to June 30.

Held on the first day of parliamentary sessions in Perth this week, the event attracted significant attention from MPs, their advisors and parliamentary staff.

This is the fifth consecutive year the WA Government has provided patients with no-cost access to influenza vaccinations.

A statewide network of 550 community pharmacies has registered to participate, following last year, when pharmacists from a similar number of pharmacies administered more than 385,000 influenza vaccinations.

Vaccine administration is anticipated to increase in 2026, with the WA Government setting immunisation targets of:

  • 30% of infants and children under 12
  • 65% of adults aged 65 and over
  • 40% of all eligible Western Australians

In addition to administering influenza vaccinations, PGA staff provided MPs with information and materials to support vaccination promotion within their electorates.

The WA Branch thanks the team from Warnbo Pharmacy for their support and participation in the clinic.
